Hydroelectric

Hydroelectric power is the most widely used renewable energy in the world accounting for 17% of energy production worldwide. Hydropower is one of our oldest sources of energy, used to power our first mills by harnessing the power of rivers. Since the early years of hydropower, engineers have been working to improve how we harness and use this readily available energy.

Hydroelectric power is here to stay, with the capability to control energy generation based on the grid’s demand it does not face the same challenges as solar and wind. Engineers are looking at using hydroelectric power for energy storage cementing it as a vital part of our grid for decades to come to help meet demand when wind and solar can’t keep up.

Our experience with design and analysis including Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to ensure a structure meets ASME code requirements a vital asset to the development and maintenance of hydroelectric power plants.
