Architectural Installations | Performing Arts Theater & Staircase

ASR provided engineering support for the installation of Corian elements at the College of the Holy Cross’s performing arts theater and stairs, collaborating with Sterling Miller Designs. Using 3D scan data, ASR addressed geometric challenges, ensuring precise fabrications and installations. The project achieved seamless surfaces and tight tolerances, demonstrating ASR’s expertise in complex architectural installations.

Spiral Staircase Analysis

Spiral Staircase Corian Cladding Engineering & Analysis

ASR provided engineering support for installing Corian cladding on a complex seven-story spiral staircase at a private residence. They utilized high-resolution 3D scanning for accurate modeling, conducted vibration and thermal analysis, and developed custom installation methods to achieve a seamless surface while addressing structural challenges, ensuring long-term durability and aesthetics.

Multi-Phase Development of a Modular Industrial Decarbonization Technology

A Global Fortune 100 energy company partnered with ASR to develop a modular industrial decarbonization technology. ASR provided comprehensive engineering support, including design, analysis, and on-site oversight, ensuring safety and manufacturability. The project progressed through multiple phases, culminating in a commercial-scale demonstration platform that met performance and compliance objectives.

Harmony of Rivers | Kinetic Sculpture Engineering Support

Harmony of Rivers | Kinetic Sculpture Engineering Support

Harmony of Rivers is a kinetic sculpture by artist Ann Moeller, installed in Avondale, Texas. ASR provided comprehensive engineering support, focusing on safety, durability, and structural integrity against wind loads. The design features a sophisticated support structure, optimizing materials and construction methods, while ensuring public accessibility and the preservation of artistic intent.

SNC Dream Chaser Valves for Valcor Corp.

ASR was contracted by Valcor Corp to analysis and optimize the valves to be qualified for physical testing. The valves are required to pass a series of thermal, structural and combined tests set by NASA and internally.

Vacuum Chamber – Crack Analysis

ASR investigated a crack in a welded aluminum vacuum chamber that compromised its ability to maintain a vacuum. Analysis determined that additional supports were needed for reinforcement. Undercutting support ribs at corners alleviated damaging compression on the weld. Finite element analysis enabled rapid design iterations leading to a viable solution without damaging the chamber.

Hall-Effect-Thrusters

ASR collaborated with Busek Corp to enhance Hall-effect thrusters, focusing on thermal and structural durability. They developed finite element models to optimize performance, validated against test data. The resulting thruster for US-FalconSat 5 was successfully launched, featuring reduced weight and matched test results, showcasing the effectiveness of their analyses.
