How Our CAD Services Benefit You
Model-Based Definition (MBD)
Our Model-based definition (MBD) services can help make your product design ready for prototyping and production. We use your preferred 3D CAD platform to develop fully defined models of each component with geometric dimensioning, tolerancing, material specifications, and manufacturing notes. Model based definition applies dimensions and notes directly to the 3D model which improves communication between engineers and manufacturers and helps prevent the need for clarifications. With these models you can approach prototype shops or production suppliers to have your components manufactured. We also offer in-house services to source and oversee sourcing, quoting, prototyping, and production of your products.
Model-based definition CAD services also allows us to output a bill of materials (BOM) for the entire assembly of your product. A bill of materials is a list of all the raw materials, sub-assemblies, intermediate assemblies, sub-components, parts, and the quantities of each. Using the bill of materials you will be able to start obtaining quotes from manufacturers and determine production costs for your product.
When you’re developing a product that needs performance, composites offer unparalleled properties. For this reason composites are used in everything from sports cars to bridge repair to spacecraft and more. Our CAD services assist with designing composite parts and assemblies, and laying out manufacturing plans. We also offer in house composite analysis which allows us to meet design strength requirements while minimizing weight to deliver the performance your customers crave.
For a more traditional engineering drawing compared to model-based definition, we offer CAD layouts. Layouts are scale 2D fully defined drawing sets that are directly generated from our 3D Model and are used for communication between engineers, designers, manufacturers, and others. These drawings contain everything from manufacturing notes to assembly requirements to material specifications and anything else that is required for manufacturing.
Whether you’re looking to patent a new idea, get a render for a proposal or pitch, develop a proof of concept, generate a 3D printed part, or manufacture a prototype you will need drafting services. We will assist you by take your idea from a concept or a sketch on a napkin to a fully defined 3D model that is ready to help drive your project forward.
Are you looking to save yourself time and energy in the future by converting your paper drawings to easily editable digital models? Our drawing conversion services can help by taking your hand sketches or old engineering drawings and converting them to a vector based digital CAD file. CAD files allow for easy editing for design revisions, straightforward file share for communication, and file backups so that you never lose critical information.
